The area around the main railway station, Hauptbahnhof, is still under development. It is an area that has been totally transformed over the last twenty years. To the south of the Spree is the government district and to the north is the station and a business district.

On the esplanade between the station and the Spree is a modern building: the Cube. Completed in 2020, it mirrors the surrounding buildings and the sky.

Its facades are photogenic, whether it’s sunny, rainy or snowy… a grey sky gives it a metallic appearance.
