The Grande Traversata delle Alpi allows you to discover Piedmontese villages. The route in the Piedmont has been designed so that hikers can go from village to village, with gites at the bottom of the valley. It is therefore not a high altitude route, but make no mistake, the hike is demanding, the terrain is not always easy and there are significant differences in height.

This part of Italy has known a very strong exodus and this path allows to keep some activity in these medium mountain villages.

There is therefore a special atmosphere, a little abandoned … and at the same time the beauty of the mountains.

The weather at the beginning of August was quite unstable and part of the hike took place between clouds and thunderstorms.
