The snow falls on Alexanderplatz

It snowed last night and it’s holding. Let’s go to Alexanderplatz.

On a district destroyed during the war, the GDR regime built a whole complex of buildings between the 1950s and 1970s to show the world the modernism of the young state.

The last notable addition was the television tower (Fernsehturm) in 1971, the tallest building of the two Berliners at the time, it remains so to this day.
